Cookbook Reviews

Every Wednesday, Super Chef publishes a review, usually of a cookbook but sometimes of other books and other media farther afield -- as long as Food is involved. The "Big Four" publishing houses crowd this market: Random House, Simon & Schuster, Harper Collins, and Penguin Putnam, not to mention the British (Bloomsbury, Houghton Mifflin), the French (Hachette, Assouline), the Japanese (Kodansha). Scores of smaller houses base their reputations all or in part upon their fine cookbooks: Ten Speed Press, Workman, Stewart Tabori & Chang, Chronicle, Hyperion (Disney), and Phaidon.
