Spice Up Your Life Week: Eat Curry

Celebrity Chefs Gordon Ramsay and Madhur Jaffrey are leading a group of chefs calling on the British public to eat curry, reported The Scotsman over the weekend. Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) is organising “Spice Up Your Life” week March 3-13 to help raise funds to help the HIV and Aids fight in India. Just invite friends and family for a night of curry and a donation to VSO. Chefs Ken Hom, Nick Nairn, Gary Rhodes, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Ramsay and Jaffrey are backing the event with recipes, inspiration, features, competitions, quizzes on VSO's website. The goal is to raise £100,000 for VSO’s work in India.The newspaper also says that VSO is encouraging businesses to get involved. PricewaterhouseCoopers has already promised to match donations from its employees’ curry nights and will also be serving curry during Spice Up Your Life week in its staff canteens.
