Feast at Cherry Blossom Festival
By JULIETTE ROSSANT In celebration of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, March 26-April 10, 2005, in Washington DC, many local chefs have been inspired to create cherry dishes. Michel Richard's Citronelle offers a recipe for Executive Chef's Cherry Tower. Bryan Voltaggio of Charlie Palmer Steak offers a recipe for Grilled Quail with Bing Cherry Preserves, Foie Gras Confit, and Vanilla Scented Brioche. Executive Pastry Chef David Guas of Ceiba offers a recipe for Warm Sopapillas with Spiced Honey Syrup and Sour Orange and Cherry Chutney. Many more restaurants are offering participating: try out the dishes at their restaurants, and then snag the recipes online (click here to visit the website's restaurant list. To obtain the recipes, just click on each restaurant.)If you want to fire up the recipes yourself, you'd better hang on to them, since the season for eating cherries is still many weeks away.
