Julia Child Tribute at Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

By JULIETTE ROSSANT

Julia ChildOn Sunday, April 23, 2005, The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books will hold a tribute to Julia Child in the form of a panel discussion of her life and legacy.

The panelists are: Moderating will be Barbara Fairchild, Editor-in-Chief of Bon Appetit magazine.

(Further details will be posted online at the end of this month at LAT FOB schedule.

Given other major tribute announcements (see previous article), it seems like this will be a wonderful late Spring for Food -- if only Julia were here to celebrate with us, instead of us celebrating her memory! Well, the cup will be a bit bitter, but thanks to her mostly very sweet. There is a Persian expression about missing someone -- a very factual yet poetic saying: jaa-ye shomaa khaalii-e ("Your place is empty").
