Le Retour de "Ask Colette"

Colette RossantIn 1988, Working Woman/McCall's inaugurated a new magazine called America Entertains: A Celebration of Food, Family & Good Friends. It featured "Ask Colette," a column by food writer and cookbook author Colette Rossant, one of the magazine's conceptualizers and editors. Two years later, The New York Times publishing group bought the magazine to gut it -- taking its circulation data and then shelving it so it would not compete with a magazine of its own.

Shortly thereafter, The New York Daily News brought Colette on board and resurrected "Ask Colette," where it ran on Wednesdays until last year.

Over this past weekend, my mother resurrected the column yet again, this time online as "Ask Colette!" Each Wednesday starting this week on March 22, "Ask Colette!" will answer emails about the Cooking of Food, Food and Kitchen Products, and Restaurants. Also, she will work backwards to archive past "Ask Colette" columns, providing a trove of recipes and advice from over a decade and a half.
