The title Chef is used very loosely nowadays. In today's world, anybody who cooks is a called a "Chef". Joe Schmoe takes a 6 month course, now he calls himself Chef Joe Schmoe. I guess I'm from the "Old School"; You have got to pay your dues before you use the title Chef.
