Melissa Perello: Boss Before 30

By JULIETTE ROSSANT The February 2006 issue of Marie Claire (a Hearst publicaton) features six women who became their bosses before the age of 30 -- including Melissa Perello, chef of Fifth Floor, located in a Kimpton hotel in San Francisco. At 24, she was executive chef at Charles Nob Hill for the Aqua Development Corp before Michael Mina split with his partner Charles Condy. Marie Claire promises "the secrets to their sweet success," and part of Melissa's story is starting out young. “I was 8 years old when my mom came home and found me in the kitchen deboning a leg of lamb!"
