Sean "Diddy" Combs, restaurateur, fashion master, and Hip Hop mogul, is now backing a reality TV cooking show.

He is quoted in Daily Variety as saying:
The sexiest trend going on right now is young men learning how to cook. There's nothing more sensual than a man cooking for his woman. We wanted to do something that fit that trend in the marketplace.
The picture Superchefblog gets is a romantic evening with cooking done in a relaxed yet elegant way, and served up with style.

Scratch that.

The show Diddy and Ben Silverman (The Biggest Loser, The Restaurant) and David A. Hurwitz (Fear Factor) wants to do is more race than relaxation. Celebrity Cooking Showdown, scheduled to debut in April on NBC five nights a week is cooking school meets boxing ring.

This is the same NBC that launched previous bombs like "The Restaurant" and "Emeril" -- don't be surprised to find that NBC and Silverman haven't learned a thing...

Celebrity chefs like Wolfgang Puck, Govind Armstrong and Cat Cora pair with different (entertainment) celebrities in a weeklong cooking competition. The first three episodes of the series will feature each of the three chefs tutoring a celebrity and training them for their moment in the spotlight. Celebrities will then face off against each other in a timed competition to create a three-course meal.

Judges will determine one winner from each night, with the three finalists squaring off for a Thursday finale. The winner, determined by a mix of judges and viewer votes, will be revealed on Friday.

Tune in April 17th to see if Silverman, Hurwitz and Combs can make celebrity cooking appealing and get one right for NBC.
