New York Times: Ethical Food
By JULIETTE ROSSANT ![]() ![]() Take a look at Frank Bruni's Sunday New York Times article "It Died for Us" that covers America's growing obsession with the ethical and moral implications of what we eat and animal welfare. Click here to read the whole article. He covers the foie gras war (see Superchefblog's extensive coverage) and quotes authors Michael Pollen and Jay Weinstein who try to steer the debate away from luxury items to cattle, pigs and poultry. He also mentions the development this month that Whole Foods will no longer sell live lobsters. Why is this issue getting notice now? Whose interests and agendas are behind journalists like Bruni and others finally bringing this issue up? Superchefblog is following the trail back to its political sources.
