Well, after getting his party hammered at the polls on November 7, U.S. President escaped the country and ongoing shame by taking a tour of East Asia -- where he provided a little Thanksgiving preview by thanking the Philippines for the current White House Executive Chef, Cristeta Comerford.

The Associate Press reported that during the President's trip:
Cristeta Comerford in Filipino cartoon "It goes beyond that," Philippine Trade Secretary Peter Favila quoted Bush as describing the robust ties between Manila and Washington. "Even the one who cooks for me in the White House is a Filipino and I'm very, very proud of this person," Bush said. "If you've noticed the paunch, it's because the food is very, very good," Bush was quoted as saying by Philippine presidential spokesman Ignacio Bunye.
AP quoted Mrs. Bush as saying that Cris's "passion for cooking can be tasted in every bite of her delicious creations."

Cris had made her official culinary debut in October 2005 when she prepared lunch and three dinner courses for Britain's Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (see previous article).

Here is Cris' menu for her boss, curtesy of the Office of the First Lady:
