Bill Yosses: White House Executive Pastry Chef
By JULIETTE ROSSANT ![]() It has taken the White House over ten months to find a new White House Executive Pastry Chef. It took the White House much more time to hire current Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford, who was already filling the job. The last pastry chef, Thaddeus R. DuBois only held the office for 18 months. Prior to him, Roland Mesnier, was White House Pastry Chef for 25 years. Thaddeus left to return to his old employer, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. ![]() The new patry chef, Bill Yosses, named on January 29, has just under two years left under President and Mrs. Bush before a new Commander-in-Chief will be his boss. Clearly, Mrs. Bush is getting a good deal: this is a pastry chef who has worked for David Bouley Restaurant, Montrachet, and most recently Paul Newman's Dressing Room. ![]() With Bill Yosses and Cristeta Comerford at the helm, the White House may yet prove a potent force in the direction of food, wine and service in America.
