Urbani Tartufi Academy Truffle Grant

Maybe you could be enticed back to school with the prospect of winning a grant from Urbani Tartufi to spend a week in their Academia Tartufi in Umbria, Italy learning everything there is to know about truffles. If you are lucky enough to be a chef, then all you have to do is come up with a winning truffle recipe and enter their grant contest. Beats a bake-off! Urbani Tartufi is the 150-year old global leader in truffle and preserved truffle products. It is run by the Urbani family: Paolo, Bruno, Olga, Giammarco and Carlo Urbani, who will oversee the winner's trip "to learn the delicate art of truffle collection, production, preparation and application in fine cuisine." The Urbani website lists the activies: Tour of select parts of Umbria and Urbani facilities Attending a truffle hunt and learning about distribution channels Learning to cook with fresh and preserved truffles [which, presumably, the winner already knows quite a good deal about] If you don't win the trip,there are plenty of truffle-y rewards: First Prize: Three (3) first prize winners will receive a supply of Urbani preserved truffle products (valued at $1500) and an Urbani truffle recipe book (valued at $30) Second Prize: Ten (10) second prize winners will receive a supply of Urbani preserved truffle products (valued at $500) Supplementary Awards: First 300 entries will receive an Urbani truffle shaver All applicants will receive a complementary membership to the Urbani Truffles Academy All applicants will have their original recipe posted and archived on Urbani's global website network All applicants will have the opportunity to enhanced their truffle knowledge, develop exciting new menu offerings, and learn how the use of Urbani truffle products can help to increase their restaurant's profitability Entries must be submitted by September 15th, 2007.
