FCI: Help Cook For A Cause
By JULIETTE ROSSANT ![]() Preparing your first holiday feast and need a bit more help to create the photo spreads in Gourmet or Bon Appetit? Then if you happen to be in New York, sign up for Help Cook for a Cause, a series of holiday meal classes (with a meal thrown in) run by the French Culinary Institute to benefit Help USA, one of the nation's largest providers of homes, jobs and services for America's homeless and low-income earning families. The six classes starting Wednesday November 7th through Friday December 7th, taught by the FCI's instructors, consisting of three-hour hands-on holiday cooking classes, with a three-course holiday dinner paired with wine. You also get a signed copy of the FCI’s cookbook The Fundamental Techniques of Classic Cuisine, a FCI apron and the recipes and grocery list from their class menu. $200 of the ticket ($450) will be donated to HELP USA to help feed the homeless during this holiday season. You can choose to learn about sweets, traditional dinner or Italian. If Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner is your favorite one of the year, this gives you an excuse to have it twice.
