If anyone doubts the importance of the food world, presidential hopefuls don't.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John Edwards have all courted the Culinary Workers Union in Nevada. The 60,000 mainly Hispanic workers put their weight behind Obama last week, even after Hilary Clinton came out ahead in the New Hampshire primary.

Reuters reports that:
The group's parent organization, UNITE HERE, with 460,000 food service, gaming and other workers nationwide, also expressed support for Obama, the Illinois senator who is hoping to become America's first black president.
While celebrity chefs feed the candidates at posh fundraisers, the real power is with the food service workers in the kitchen and out on the floor.
