Bravo's A-List Awards
By JULIETTE ROSSANT ![]() ![]() What does the world really need? Another award show! Bravo is introducing The A-List Awards on June 12 at 10 PM ET/PT. If the Food Network has an awards show, why not Bravo? The idea is to honor those who "have made an indelible mark in the arts, and showcasing some of the leading creative minds working today," according to the press release. The host is Kathy Griffin, who has a show called (surprise) My Life on the D-List. ![]() The categories include A-List Cewebrity, celebrities who exist only because of the internet – chosen by an internet vote. Then there is: A-List Everywhere: "Presented to the face and name in pop culture that is impossible to avoid, even if you wanted to." The nominees include both Barack Obama and Britney Spears. What about food? There is an A-List Chef category for "the greatest ingenuity and creativity with his or her culinary creations" with the following nominees: * Jose Andres, Washington, D.C. * David Chang, New York * Suzanne Goin, Los Angeles * Michael Psilakis, New York There is also an A-List Restaurant category for the "most delectable eatery in the United States" with these nominees: · Bar Boulud – Daniel Boulud, New York · Little Owl – Joey Campanaro, New York · Osteria Mozza – Matt Molina, Los Angeles · Table 52 – Art Smith, Chicago Is that comparing oranges to oranges and apples to apples? There is a difference in the executive chef and the chef/owner who oversees other restaurants. Will this wacky award show reveal anything but who is in the tabloids, on the party lists, or wherever the A-list exists? Good luck to all the nominees.
