Martha Stewart and Boy George
By JULIETTE ROSSANT![]() Did you ever stop to consider how much Martha Stewart and Boy George have in common? Boy George has been in the news recently because he has been refused a visa to visit the United States for a concert tour. It seems George was arrested last year after a 28-year-old male escort from Norway accused him of false imprisonment by chaining him to a wall and assaulting him. He is out on bail, facing trial in November, according to the BBC. What about Martha? Well, she too has been refused a visa, but this time to the United Kingdom, where she was to meet with fashion contacts according to Reuters. Martha is a convicted felon. Martha was found guilty of conspiracy, making false statements and obstruction of agency proceedings, in connection with her sale of stock in ImClone Systems Inc. on December 27, 2001. Is this a celebrity tit for tat by the State Department and the Home Office? Are these two visa imbroglios unrelated? Super Chef doesn't think so. Do either of these governments really think George or Martha is a serious threat?
