The third annual Taste of Ebony, an evening celebrating the accomplishments of top African-American chefs, restaurateurs and sommeliers across the country, caught Super Chef's eye. The event on October 30th is put on by Ebony Magazine and Anheuser Busch, Inc.

According to the press release, the guests will be: "An eclectic audience of tastemakers, celebrities, athletes, newsmakers and noted individuals from all industries in the Atlanta area."

Presumably, young African-American will learn about the event in the pages of Ebony.

Bill Bellamy

Bill Belamy, of NBC's Last Comic Standing and Who's Got Jokes hosts the comedy and the tastings. The Co-Chairs of the event are: Marcus Samuelsson, G. Garvin, and Marvin Woods.

Joe Randall

The evening is essentially the same as the previous year, except for the important inclusion of Chef Joe Randall, of Joe Randall's Cooking School in Savannah. Super Chef had called on Ebony to include more established chefs like Joe in its article last year.

Other confirmed chefs are:

Darryl Evans
Dwight Evans
Rahman “Rock” Harper
Tony Morrow
Jamika Pessoa
Clayton Sherrod
Allan Vernon
Sonya Jones
Charlotte Lyons

It still remains for Ebony to increase the impact of this event by creating scholarships for African-American culinary students to really bring home the point of the event: encouraging the next generation of African-Americans to consider a culinary career.

Why not establish a scholarship at Joe Randall's Cooking School?
