Michelin Tour in Northern California
By JULIETTE ROSSANT![]() The grand tour of Europe usually meant driving or taking trains through various European countries, visiting monuments and eating extremely well at Michelin 2 and 3-star restaurants. If you can't make it to Europe, but still want the grand experience (or you've already done Europe), why not try a grand tour in the US? Now that Michelin is publishing restaurant guides for New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, you can follow the stars. Three 2-Michelin star chefs have banded together to offer a special tour in Northern California. ![]() The trip is called Dining With "The Stars" and includes a tasting menu at Michael Mina's eponymous Restaurant Michael Mina, Douglas Keane's Cyrus and Christopher Kostow's The Restaurant at Meadowood along with an overnight stay at each location. ![]() For Michael Mina, you stay at the Westin St. Francis on Union Square in San Francisco. For Cyrus, you stay at the Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza. And finally, you stay at a cottage after dinner at The Restaurant at Meadowood. The Dining with the Stars deal is being offered Monday-Thursday, January 15, 2009 through April 15, 2009. You can start in San Francisco and go north or vice versa. Click here for more information.
